What to expect from therapy
Therapy is a process whereby you share your thoughts, problems, and deepest feelings with someone who can help you work through any areas you feel stuck in. This is to help you to to be more effective and self-confident, and result in greater life satisfaction. Most clients come in once a week for a 53-minute session.
Therapy is client-directed, and I am an active, empathetic and challenging therapist. By committing to therapy, we can explore the hidden places that may not have been worked through, and gain a deeper understanding and compassion for ourselves, in order to feel relief from feelings of anger, frustration, anxiety and sadness.
However, people frequently have ambivalent feelings about therapy, the time commitment, the cost, the process and speed of change, and these are all important things to talk to about in session.
